Sigh. Girls! Who needs them? Why does Lina have to be so demanding? 'Go camping guys, Amelia and I don't want to be around you.... men for about a week. Here is enough food for you. Now go!' I mean Zelgadis doesn't even want to be out here with..... me. I don't want to force Zel out here, but that Dragu Slave was pretty damn convincing to both of us. Not that either one of us want to be around Amelia or Lina right now.... imagine our surprize not to mention horror when we found out they both hit "that time of the month" at the same time. I shudder. Nothing is worth being around Lina when she is like that and Amelia's speeches start becoming more and more like women's sufferage speeches than her usual justice speeches. Like it's our fault. Jeez. Women.

I watch him again. Every movement has a otherworldly grace, must be the mazoku. Like liquid, beautiful, breathtaking, desireable. I want him, but I can't approach him. I don't deserve him. He is so wonderful and I'm.... I'm a stupid country hick. Sure I'm a skilled warrior, but Zel needs someone smart, someone who can help protect him. I know that's what he wants. "Itai......" I rub my now bleeding nose. Stupid, stupid stupid. I should have seen that tree branch, but noooooooo..... I had to think about him again. Oh and a lovely bonus, the branch ripped out hair too.

"Gourry? Are you alright?" He looks at me with those azure eyes. They have a look of annoyance in them that is trying to cover up the concern hidden deep within the depths.

I will out one of my safe, extensive, arsonal of stupid grins. "Yeah Zel I just didn't see that branch. I guess I was too deep in thought." He raises an eyebrow. Think fast Gabriev. "I'm getting kind of hungry and I want to set up camp as soon as possible." I rub the back of my neck.

He smirks and chuckles slightly as he approaches me. "Better heal this first." He holds his hand above me as he casts a healing spell. Before he even casts the spell, I feel better. Just him being this close to me makes be feel alive. He is still smiling and I begin to get curious. "You know Gou-kun if you don't start watching yourself, you might have to stay around just to take care of you." I feel myself blush.

"Would that be so bad?" My eyes widen as soon as I said. Idiot! How could you let that slip?

He gives me a look of complete astonishment. "Excuse me?"

Come on come on think of something. "I said I would like to go to bed. It's getting late and I sort of feel tired. We haven't really gotten much rest lately." He looks almost sad and nods looking a little tired himself. He helps me up and we are on our way. What was that look Zel-kun? Could it be you like me too? You are shy so it wouldn't surprize me. I smile. Maybe this trip won't be so bad afterall.

In the bushes, a pair of amethyst eyes watch the two. "This is far to.... amusing to pass up. Maybe I can stir a fire in the chimera's cold heart. Ne, that would be very amusing. However, I need to make it fun for both him and me." He looks and at the blond hair he now has in his hands. "Very amusing indeed." With a dark laugh, he vanishes into the darkness.
