Midnight Visits
Zelgadiss stared out the window for the third time since he had sat down at the table. The red haired woman sitting across from him finally set down her hand of cards and tugged on some of his wire hair. It pulled the man back to attention.
"Zel, are you playing or are you folding?" Lina demanded.
Zel looked blankly at Lina and then down at the cards resting in his hands. He looked around the table at a curious looking Ameria and a very bored Xellos. Glancing down at his cards, he found he had little to offer.
"I fold."
Lina grinned widely and layed down her hand, exposing four aces and a queen.
"Lina, you cheated!!" Ameria accused across the table.
The firey haired woman picked up her beer bottle and took a long swig from it.
"Face it Ameria, you're just no good at cards."
Xellos ran his fingers through the loose dollar bills, quarters, a couple buttons, and a piece of hard candy on the table.
"Well, Lina, you've managed to win seventeen dollars and fifty cents, two buttons, and a root beer flavored candy." he informed her flatly.
"Hey, it's better than the rest of you did!" she pointed out triumphantly.
Zelgadiss got to his feet and wandered into the kitchen, staring long and hard at the back door. The screen door was open slightly, giving a glimpse of his backyard and the tree near the door. He scanned outside again for sign of movement.
"Zel, what the hell are you waiting for? You've been getting up almost every fifteen minutes now!"
The chimera shook his head at Lina's brash line of questioning and opened the refridgerator, fetching out another bottle of beer for Lina and a couple wine coolers for Xellos and Ameria. He himself had chosen to abstain from drinking tonight. He let out a soft disappointed sigh when his ears made no distinction of movement other than the light breeze of the spring night.
Coming back inside, he saw Xellos yawning and stretching. The purple haired man winked at him and threw him a subtle kiss. Zel rolled his eyes and sat down, handing out the drinks to everyone. He sipped his already cold coffee, picking up the cards again.
"Hey, Zel, do you have anything to eat other than carrot sticks?" Lina questioned absently.
The young man sighed and motioned to the kitchen.
"I think there are some potato chips in the cupboard, just don't tip anything over like last time."
"I was drunk last time, thank you so little." Lina responded, sticking out her tongue at Zelgadiss.
The young woman rose to her feet and wandered into the kitchen. She opened the second cupboard near the backdoor, fishing around for the food when she heard a light scratching. Looking about the place, she finally pinpointed the noise coming from the backdoor. Peeking out through the slightly open screen, her eyes fell upon the culprit.
See these eyes so green,
I can stare for a thousand years, colder than the moon.
It's been so long, and I've been putting out the fire with gasoline.
"Woah, hey there!" Lina said softly, opening the door.
The slinky creature crept quietly through the door, staring up at Lina curiously. It padded about on soft feet, moving around the kitchen, seeming to search for something.
"HEY, ZEL!!"
"What?" The chimera asked quietly, his head starting to ache from Lina's continual pesterings tonight.
"There's a cat in your kitchen!"
Immediatly, Zel pushed himself up from his chair and moved so fast into the kitchen, that he bumped the table, knocking Xellos's wine cooler over.
"Geez, Greywars, be more careful!" The purple eyed man hissed.
Zelgadiss didn't bother to pay attention, instead he stopped in the kitchen. Lina was kneeling on the floor, the cat sitting across from her. It swished it's tail back and forth in a rather irritated manner.
"When did you get a cat, Zelgadiss?" Lina questioned, patting the floor, trying to get the cat to come toward her.
Zel's gaze fell to the cat sitting on the floor. He sighed softly, shaking his head.
"It's not my cat. He just comes by."
"Oh, for a free meal, huh?"
"Yah, for a free meal." Zel responded absently, opening the refridgerator and taking out a carton of cream. Pulling a dish from the cupboard, he poured the thick liquid in the saucer and set it on the floor, near a white sheet that had been placed meticuously close to the doorway.
"He must come by quite often. What do you call him?"
Zel shrugged and told Lina it's name.
"Really? How did you come up with a name like that?" she questioned. "It doesn't seem like a very kitty-ish name."
"He told me his name."
The firey haired young woman raised her eyebrow as Zel watched the cat wander over to the cream, licking the rich smooth confection delicately.
"Oh, I get it. You mean that he told you what you should name him by the things that he does."
Zelgadiss nodded absently and looked up at the clock.
Eleven thirty...I've got to get them out of here...
Forcing a long yawn out of his throat, Zel stretched lazily and yawned again for extra emphasis.
"Oh man, Zelgadiss, are you already tired? We just started playing tonight."
The young man guided Lina back into the dining room.
"Sorry guys, but I'm exhausted. Maybe we can play poker next week, huh?"
Ameria let out a disappointed sigh and then stood, taking Lina's hand. The young woman smiled and kissed the brunette's forehead, which made the young girl blush.
"Well, I suppose Ameria and I could find other activities to occupy our time." Lina said with a wink.
The young brunette turned an even deeper shade of red.
"Now, now you two. None of that while you're in our host's house." Xellos chided as he pushed the girls along to the door. Zelgadiss let out a soft sigh of relief, but grew anxious again as he watched the minutes tick by on the clock.
"Look guys, I really, really need to get some sleep." Zel stated nervously, his eyes flying to the clock's moving hands again.
"Okay, but we expect to play next week!" Lina shouted as she and Ameria walked hand in hand down the sidewalk to their car.
Xellos lingered at the door, looking at Zel hard.
"So, are you really tired Greywars, or is there something you're not telling us?"
"I'm not in the mood for this tonight, Xel. Please, I really need to get to sleep." Zel's eyes caught the big hand of the clock moving another minute away.
Please, leave!!
Xellos sighed and shook his head, and leaned forward, surprised when Zelgadiss turned his head and Xel's lips met with his cheek instead of his mouth.
Pulling back, Xellos mouth slipped into an even frown.
"There was a time you used to let me kiss you." he stated dryly.
"Yah, well, that's a long time ago, Xel." The chimera stated flatly, and began to close the door, until Xellos stuck his foot in.
"Whatever you're hiding, Greywars, you can't hide it forever."
"Goodnight, Xellos." Zelgadiss responded flatly, pushing the foot out of the doorway and closing the door, securing the lock. Breathing a sigh of relief, he looked up at the clock again.
Eleven forty-five...I can still change...
Glancing in the kitchen as Zel walked by, a large golden haired cat with deep sapphire blue eyes was still lapping lightly at the cream. The chimera felt an indistinguishable shiver slide up his spine and he made his way up the stairs.
See these eyes so red, red like jungle burnin' bright
Those who feel me near pull the blinds and change their minds
It's been so long...
Zel secured the tie of his low slung sweatpants around his waist and walked down the stairs quietly again. He slipped past the kitchen, resisting the urge to look in again and sat down in his small study, relaxing into the overstuffed couch. The large grandfather clock ticked away quietly, the hands reaching ever so closer to the twelve.
The young man shifted nervously, his hands twitching over his legs. He repositioned himself again, trying to find a comfortable spot that would allow him to relax just a little bit. His breath stopped in his chest when the first chime of midnight came ringing through his small house.
Fill this pulsing night
A plauge they call the heartbeat
Just be still with me
You wouldn't believe what I've been
through...
There was the soft sighing sound that echoed through the kitchen and into Zel's study as the clock chimed it's ninth time. Zel's heart was pounding in his chest as he heard louder movement, his eyes watching the study's entryway, his mind thinking a thousand thoughts at once. By the twelfth chime, all of his senses were completely aware of the coming visitor.
The light of the entry slowly dimmed as a tall figure stood in the center of it. His long, smooth, milky colored frame was only discreetly and barely hidden by a white sheet he had slung around his waist. Cascades of hair that were short of being pure gold fell over his shoulders and back, a set of lush full bangs covering his left eye. His right eye was visible, sapphire blue with a small slit of black down the middle that was slowly beginning to dialate in the dimness of the room. In his right hand he held a saucer of cream.
Zelgadiss didn't bother to try and speak. He didn't want to say anything right then. He just wanted to stare at the man who was standing in front of him. The elegant, strong shaped man shifted, bringing the saucer to his lips, sipping the cream slowly, a small amount dribbling down his chin. Zel whimpered softly as he lowered the dish, licking the back of his hand and swiping it over his chin in one smooth, cleaning motion. Setting the dish down, he licked his lips and slowly began to cross the room.
"You're going to spoil me if you keep giving me this stuff." The man said softly, his tenor voice laced with a soft purr in each syllable.
The chimera swallowed as the man still approached and sat up slightly as the golden haired man lowered himself down to rest between Zelgadiss's legs, his visible blue eye looking intently at the man in front of him.
Without a word, the man suddenly surged forward, pinning Zel's legs to the couch and his spine to the back of the piece of furniture. His lips closed over the chimera's and a hot tongue was lapping at the other man's lips until Zel couldn't bare it, opening his mouth and sucking hungrily on the wet warmth touching his mouth, tasting warm cream amongst the man's distinctive flavor.
The kiss broke suddenly, the golden haired man latching his mouth on Zel's exposed nape, biting until he wrangled a loud cry from the chimera, Zel's fingers coming up and latching in the thick mane covering both him and his partner.
"Oh gods, Gourry..." he barely managed to whimper, his pants already too tight for him. "I didn't think you were coming back."
Gourry's hot, wet mouth came back to Zel's, placing slow, warm kisses all over the other man's lips, savoring the little soft pleading noises the chimera made.
"Situations beyond my control kept me away." Gourry said softly between kisses, the sheet that was now freed sliding off his hips slightly.
"But three days...you were gone for three days." Zelgadiss whispered against the man's lips, his voice trembling. "It was like waiting for an eternity. I didn't know what happened to you."
You've been so long, Well it's been so long
And I've been putting out the fire with gasoline
Putting out the fire with gasoline.
The slit of black that indicated Gourry's pupil had dilated even larger, showing his arousal. He stood suddenly, pulling Zelgadiss off the couch, wrapping the unresisting man's legs around his waist and the arms around his neck as he moved out of the study on soft feet, quick and agile up the stairs.
Zelgadiss wasn't sure when they had reached his bedroom, Gourry's movements had been so rapid and agile that all he could feel was being pressed firmly against a frame that throbbed with strength. Every muscle his hands or body ran against seemed to extend and flex.
Gourry laid Zel down the bed, crawling up on it, his body slinking slowly, his back lowered and his shoulders taught. The chimera held his breath, knowing that if he even moved slightly, he would be pinned. It was a game that he and Gourry had begun to play, and it was the thrill of the hunt that kept both of them on edge.
See these eyes so green
I can stare for a thousand years
Just be still with me,
You wouldn't believe what I've been through
The taller man began to pace back and forth on the bed on all fours, his hair swishing back and forth against the sheets, his longer fingernails kneading into the smooth silk underneath his palms. His visible blue slitted eye watched Zelgadiss, waiting patiently. He knew the young man would have to exhale sooner or later.
The chimera couldn't fight the pull at his chest even if he wanted too. He exhaled and intook a deep breath of air. He let out a groan when a warm body was suddenly on top of him, holding him down, warm tongue pressing deeply in his ear.
"Caught you..." Gourry whispered hotly in his partner's ear, biting on the lobe and sucking, his longer fingernails raking down Zel's chest in light brushes.
"Now that you have your prey, what do you intend to do?" Zel whispered the question back at Gourry, his own hands sliding up and down Gourry's back, causing the blonde to make a very noticeable arch in his back, his frame seeming to vibrate.
Gourry's hand slid down between them, tearing the ties of Zel's sweatpants and pushing his hand inside, feeling moist hardness against his extremely soft palm. Zelgadiss let out a loud cry, his hips rearing up.
"I like to play with my prey..." He whispered against Zel's lips, his hand stroking in slow, deliberate touches. "...and then when I'm ready,... I eat..." Zel couldn't hide the flush of his face or the deep throated moan that rose to his lips as Gourry began a hot trail of kisses down his chest.
The golden haired man moved his tongue over Zel's chest in small, little flicks, lapping at the smooth stones that graced the young man's frame and then down to his navel. The chimera squirmed underneath the wet pressure in his middle and pulled at Gourry's hair, his breath coming out in shallow gasps.
"G-gourry..." He could hardly whisper, the mouth on his navel and the hand in his pants were combining a thousand different sensations in his body.
You've been so long
Well it's been so long
And I've been
putting out the fire with gasoline
Putting out the fire with
gasoline.
The blonde man threw his hair to the side, his sapphire slit eye watching Zel's chest rise and fall, the way the blush took his cheeks. It was too delicious a sight to not enjoy slowly. Gourry withdrew his hand slowly, licking at his fingers, enjoying the warm tingle on his tongue. Zelgadiss couldn't stop the cry that rose to his chest, knowing already what Gourry was going to do and trembling at the same time.
Pulling the sweatpants over Zel's narrow hips, he slowly skimmed them over the man's blue tinted skin, making sure his slim fingernails came in contact with Zel's thighs, drawing an uncontrollable shudder from his partner. Throwing the material off the bed, the blonde man returned to Zel's frame, moistening his lips slowly. Lowering his head, he only drew the tip in, savoring the warm fluid that was already on the tip and lingering his tongue there, lapping very slowly.
Zel reared again, grabbing Gourry's hair, grateful that his lover was not easily bruised or hurt. He cursed out loud and panted, his wire hair beginning to actually glimmer with a smooth sheen of moisture. Gourry drew back, a slight grin on his face.
"I think this is much better than the cream." The golden haired man whispered, licking his lips slowly before lowering down and resuming his soft, gentle suction.
Oh gods, no one should be able to do these kind of things...
Zelgadiss could hardly even think to groan any more, Gourry's tortorous mouth moving up and down him now in slow, strong strokes. His mouth held firm and it was the scrape of his partner's eye teeth that finally forced a near scream from Zel's lips.
"Please, Gourry...please..." he cried, his eyes wide as his hips rocked up into the warmth, teeth scraping sensitive flesh, tongue brushing over smooth contours. "I need you..."
See these tears so blue
An ageless heart that can never mend
These tears can never dry
Judgement made can never bend
Gourry drew back, his breath coming out in short little gasps. The taste of Zelgadiss was on his tongue, and he looked hungrily at the man who was staring back at him.
Zelgadiss saw the look in Gourry's eyes and a new tremble shot through his limbs as he tried to fight the urge to sit up and force himself down on Gourry's erection.
"Do you want this?" Gourry asked, his voice rich with that same seductive purr.
"Y-yes..." Zel barely whispered back, his heart thrumming heavily in his chest, his thoughts all clouded by one simple desire. Gourry.
Gourry swept up the pool of moisture between his own legs and slowly slid his hand underneath Zel's body. His fingers were feather light, but his longer fingernails immediatley brushed the tender insides of the chimera's body, causing him to writhe against Gourry's hand.
"G-gourry...oh gods, please, don't tease me..." Zel breathed through his gasp, his hips rocking up and down the slender digits inside of him. The motion of Zelgadiss hips was an extremely inticing sight for Gourry. The golden haired man licked his lips at the thought of lowering himself down on the slick hard flesh his hand now glided over.
Not tonight...I know what he wants tonight...
Gourry slipped his fingers free slowly, making sure his fingernails raked along the inside of Zel just for the adding noise the chimera made. He reached down and grasped himself, spreading the moisture evenly over his length.
"Roll over, Zel." He barely whispered.
Well it's been so long (been so long)
I've been puttin' out fire (been so long)
And it's been so long (been so long)
I've been puttin' out the fire (been so long)
Zelgadiss rolled onto his stomach, bringing himself up on his hands and knees, his head lowered, his breath staggered as he felt a warm body curl up against his, wet lips gliding over the back of his neck, golden streams flowing over his back, shoulders and hips.
"When?..." The soft question tickled his ear.
"...now..."
That single word was all Gourry needed and with a smooth swift push, he slid himself inside the tight warmth, not stopping until he was completely inside. Zelgadiss let out a loud cry and grabbed the sheets, his air coming out in a staggered series of gasps. Gourry held completely still then, waiting for Zelgadiss to make the next move. When he felt his lover's hips shift back, it was the only indication he needed.
Zelgadiss almost lost it the moment Gourry pushed into him, feeling a near climax occur right then. He was eternally grateful when the taller man ceased movement so he could get control of his body again. But now, he was moving inside of him, slow, hot tremors easing over his body, his hands tightening on his sheets. A large, smooth, soft palmed hand wrapped around Zelgadiss's length.
"Gourry!!" He screamed, his words being quickly replaced by thrusts of his hips against a soft hand and slight fingertips with smooth long nails. The sensations were so strong, accompanied with Gourry pressing in and out of him, that Zelgadiss wondered if he would lose conciousness sooner or later.
Gourry could feel the tension in Zel's hips, and the pressure was radiating against him, with Zel's muscles tightening slightly. His voice slowly lowered into a soft growl, something that his partner whimpered at.
Zelgadiss heard the soft growl in Gourry's throat. He groaned and then cried out as Gourry locked his teeth firmly on the back of Zel's neck, causing a minor paralysis of his neck for a moment before a new sensation of pleasure shot through him. Gourry's hips were picking up in speed as his mouth held stead fast to Zel's neck, his teeth biting, but not hard enough to hurt. The coupled bodies moved faster, Gourry pressing hard into Zelgadiss and the young man pressing hard into Gourry's palm.
Zel lost his fight against his climax the moment one of the slender fingernails pressed into the small slit in Zel's length. He screamed loud and long, pushing back on Gourry's hips, tears sliding down his face as he spilled freely into Gourry's hand and over the sheets. The muscles contracted firmly around Gourry's flesh and he tore away from Zel's neck long enough to cry out in a voice that mixed human sound with an animalistic like growl. He released fast and hard inside of Zel and collapsed slowly, feeling the chimera relax underneath him.
There was only the silence and soft breathing for a few moments. Finally, Gourry pushed himself up and regretfully slid free from the warmth that he savored deeply. Zel slowly opened his eyes, feeling himself being pulled to rest back against a strong chest, a slender, muscled arm sliding around his waist.
"Are you okay?" Gourry's voice was soft and rich against Zel's ear.
"Okay may be an understatement." Zel responded, turning his head enough to kiss Gourry's chin. The man purred his contentment, licking a little at Zelgadiss's cheek, making the young man laugh lightly.
"I'm sorry I stayed away for so long. Some times it's difficult for me to get here amongst the city."
"I know...I'm just afraid when you leave that I won't see you again."
"Hey, I do have more than one life."
"That's just a proverb." Zelgadiss retorted, though he smiled.
Gourry kissed his nose and nuzzled him affectionately. Zel couldn't fight the yawn that came to his lips. Making love to Gourry was three times more exhausting than anything else the chimera could think of. Gourry smiled and kissed the side of his head.
"Get some sleep, Zel." he whispered softly.
"Mmm..." Zelgadiss responded, his eyes already shut.
"Love you Gourry..." He barely murmured.
"I love you too, Zelgadiss..." the tall man whispered back. He laid silently then, the man he loved resting in his arms. He didn't sleep, instead favoring to watch Zel sleep peacefully. It was something he himself knew he could never do. Sighing quietly, he pressed himself close.
Morning came too quickly and Zelgadiss moaned as the streams of light came shimmering through his thin curtains. The soft breeze of a slightly chilled spring morning touched his skin. Realizing that he was missing the heat of another body behind him, Zel sat up and looked about. His eyes finally fell upon a golden haired, sapphire eyed cat sitting on the window sill. Zelgadiss smiled, patting the bed for the cat to come and sit with him a bit. The cat tilted it's head, seeming to consider it, when the telephone suddenly rang.
Zel cursed out loud and grabbed the phone, pulling it nearly off the nightstand.
"Hello?!" He growled.
"Oh, I'm sorry, Zel, did I get you up?"
"No, Xellos, I was awake..."
Before Zelgadiss could finish his sentence, he saw the golden haired cat jump out the window and down a few tree branches to the ground. Zel surged to his feet, his heart going into his throat as the cat quickly crossed the street, nearly missing a truck's wheels before disappearing behind a nearby shed. Zelgadiss let out a slow, relieved sigh and sank down on the bed again.
"Zel, are you still there?"
"Yah, I'm still here."
"Did you get some sleep last night?" Xellos asked sharply.
"Yes, Xel, I did. Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to go and take a shower."
Without another word, the chimera hung up the phone. He sighed softly and stood, returning to the window again. His eyes followed the path that the cat had crossed only a few moments before. His lips curled into a smile as he glanced at the neon green numbers of the clock near him.
Only sixteen more hours until midnight...Come back soon, Gourry...
With that, Zel turned from the window and headed to the bathroom for his long awaited shower.
Been so long (so long, so long)
Been so long (so long, so long)
I've been puttin' out the fire (been so long, so long, so long)
